Old Gas Station to City Boat Shop
Around 1920 this gas station was built and eventually becomes Freeman's Sunoco until 1972, which was one of 6 stations within a 3 block radius. The buildings became a perfect fit for our businesses, Mary's office utilizes the 1936 creamery and 1955 print shop and my company, Michigan Boat and Engine operates out of this iconic gas station. 1952 Kiekhaefer Mercury KG-9 w/early "Q" tower and open exhaust.
For over 25 years Bob Shapton has toiled with the finest outboard manufacture, Kiekhaefer Mercury Outboards. The focus of his efforts are preserving the integrity of these classics as fully functional & fully detailed engines. They're not intended as "sawhorse queens," but as a power source for antique and classic boats.

1955 Wagemaker Wolverine
This represents a 1955 boat and motor combination. Powering this Wagemaker custom is a matching 1955 Mercury Mark 55E, 4 cylinder, 40Hp. This image was taken at the "Boats on the Wall," durning Heritage weekend in Leland, Michigan 2015.

Company Truck
Any company thats worth it's salt has a company truck. Here at MiB&E we're no exception. This old girl really turns heads. She's a 1947 Dodge Power Wagon WDX, 74HP T137 Inline six cylinder, fore and aft PTO, 1952 Military NDT skins. Lights, heater, Brayton MU2 winch, blinkers and yes brakes! You can see her bombing around Lake Leelanau now and then. Lets see more of the truck!
